Peugeot 306 1997 1.4 TU Engine - Won't start, will crank but coil and injectors not being fired Archived Message

    Hi all,

This vehicle was recovered to us with the complaint that having be stood for a few weeks would not start. Engine will crank, but coils or injectors are not being fired.

This car has the Magenti Marreli 1AP ECU fitted. Tried to read codes with SP ACR but will not talk but somehow managed to access a blink code of 19, but don't know what this refers to or whether it's valid.

MIL is on all the time, but fuel pump will run for a few seconds on power up. Checked for power & ground to ECU and also has good signal from crank sensor. Also bypassed the main relay just in case ECU wasn't pulling it in on crank, but no luck.

Vehicle had a remote keyfob that wasn't working . Have put a new battery in and now controls CDL ok. Suspect that it is also a transponder immobilizer but not certain. Can anyone shine any light on this? Not sure if we have an immobilizer problem or faulty ECU? Have searched the archives and not found anything really relevant, though have read elsewhere that these ECUs are susceptible to intermittent faults.

Any advice is appreciated as usual.

    Many thanks

    Sean.
