Rover 414 1996 - Running rough, variable KV's Archived Message

    Hi techs,
I'm at the moment trying to find out why this vehicle is running badly. During the course of my investigations I discovered that the maximum voltage is very high (17kv-30kv). Indeed I discovered the voltage constantly fluctuates by up to 10kv on each plug. I replaced leads, plugs, distributor cap and rotor arm.Does anyone have any idea as to why the voltage is so high and why is there such a fluctuation in the voltage at each plug? Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    EG
