    HI. I don't know if this is relevant to your car as I don't know if it has got hydraulic tappets or shims, but We have just done a renault laguna that would start and run for 30 seconds but if we let the revs off, it would stall and then spin over as though there was no compressions, we checked the compressions once, after the engine had cut out and got 150 psi, so we dropped the oil as it looked as though it was contaminated with fuel, we ran it for as few hours with the revs held on but it still stalled when we let the revs off, so we used some more engine flush and inlet cleaner, but it made no difference, so we then got it to cut out, whipped out the plugs and we got 40 psi, 2 minutes later it was back to 150 psi. so we took the rocker cover off and checked the valve clearances, inlet were o.k. but exhaust were nil, so we fitted a set of shims 16 thou less and it starts and runs like a dream, emissions ok etc.
