A new wiper motor assembly fixed this car. Just a few notes in case anyone has to do one of these. There are 5 wires going on to the motor. Black is an ignition live, browm is a earth, Black/yellow is for the high speed and comes directly from the switch, Green/black is for the intermittent and slow speed and this comes from a multi function unit found in the fuse box which recieves a signal from the switch. A note on this green/black wire, if your are checking this wire use a meter or LED test light because it does not appear to be able to supply enough power to light a test lamp. The final wire is black and I am not sure what this does? it may provide some sort of a feedback as with the plug off the motor there is 8V on it, plug connected and motor off 4.25V, slow speed 8.3V and high speed 7.83V. Thanks again for the replys.
    Ronan.
