After taking the advice from several Vauxhall tech's this seemed to be inkeeping with the CIM so I replaced the CIM module, programmed it and the care was fine for 3 days, then it happened again. I was now convinced this was a power supply issue and removed every fuse one at a time to try and replicate the problem. Finally after removing an 80 amp fuse at the back of the UEC underhood electrical centre the same thing happened. Vauxhall TIS showed this fuse to supply the REC rear electrical centre. There was a plug with 2 large red cables supplying the REC I gave it a pull to check how secure it was and it came straight out! I know this had never been worked on from new so it had left the factory with the plug not clipped in. I plugged it back on and it has been fine since. its quite incredible how the REC can have such a dramatic effect on the dash at the front of the car. Thanks to everybody that helped and I hope this helps somebody in future. Regards Paul
