Jeep Cherokee 4.0 2000 - Front brake overheating # Archived Message

We have a problem 4.0L Jeep Cherokee in at the moment. The problem is concerning the front brakes, after a few miles but no specific time or distance, the front nearside ( normally )brake begins to overheat to such an extent that eventually we have smoke!! leave it a few minutes, the brakes free off and no problems for a while. We have done all of the obvious i.e.
    (1) Changed the disc's and pads.
    (2) Changed the brake fluid.
    (3) Changed the front brake hoses, (dissected the old hoses, no evidence of degraded rubber or fluid contamination).
    (4) Checked caliper sliders, all free no signs of sticking or corrosion.

The servo operation seems OK, no wheel bearing problem, front drive shafts are OK. This vehicle has only done about 38,000 miles, regularly serviced and owned and driven by an elderly customer who has owned the vehicle from day 1.

Any clues or known fixes would be gratefully appreciated, after looking on the web it would seem that other people have had very similar experiences but up to now there are no answers as yet, HELP PLEASE.
