Fan had failed and logged a code for motor open circuit. Control unit built on to motor appears to have been hot.
New Valeo unit fitted. Modified design with a relay attatched to fan frame and shrunk into fan loom(bl**dy expensive).
Now fan runs continuosly with engine running and for approx 30 secs after, ignition on or off.
Funtions correctly with Lexia actuation gradually rising to max speed.
Coolant temp live data is sensible. Air temp is daft at 320c but sensible on another screen, presume this is software glitch. Temp gauge ok, no over temp warning. Config is correct for variable speed "chopper" fan and no AC.
Five wires to fan, heavy power and earth ok and permanent. Other three, 1 speed signal analogue(from engine ecu) 2 dianostic(to engine ecu) 3 Relay supply(from engine relay unit)
Eng. running cold----0.05-0.32-14.1------Running Max
Ign off first 30secs(approx----------0.05-0.28-12.4-----Running Max 31secs-------------------3.5--?--0.9-------Slowing 31-35s reducing to-----0----0---reducing--Stopped few mins----------------0----0----0--------Stopped
Actuation via Lexia start----------------0----0.26-12.6------Stopped actuation speed rises to------5.77-0.26-12.1------Running Max
Sorry thats a bit hard on the eyes, had it all lined up but wont transfer right
It is obvious that fan stops as pin three changes from 12v to 1v... but it is stopped during actuator test with battery voltage still present on pin three.
