    Hi Terry,

I have a web-site which my son constructed and manages for me. I am at the moment bringing it up to date and should be completed shortly. I have advertised it on 5 "portals" and it is on 1st page of 4 and 2nd page on the other one. It currently brings me in 1 or 2 jobs per month which is not a lot but better than a poke in the eye. These extra jobs should be looked at in the long term because these people then become 'old customers' and bring in recommendations. The new customers to the site bring in about an extra £100 - £350 per month.

I am mobile and therefore do not have the "presence" of a garage and rely on advertising in the yellow pages. I was dragged shouting and screaming into the cyber age and do not regret it. My web-site is something I enjoy trying to improve and watch in satisfaction its promotion up the rankings.

If you go for a site, my best advice is to advertise in every free on-line directory and watch it climb. They do not cost much to construct if you have it professionally done and you can have it maintained for a small monthly fee.

    Regards Pete M
