Just done set of points in an old Beetle last week. My trainee just looked blank when I explained I was setting up the dwell angle!
It reminded me how easy cars are to service now - and how difficult fault diagnosis has become!!
Most young/trainee/appretice technicians I talk to don't even bother with checking/setting plug gaps (unless they work for me, that is).
I forget where I read it but apparently, as far as its carbon footprint is concerned, the vehicle with the smallest is the Jeep Wrangler. This is because it uses old technology so it used less energy to design it, it's easy and quick to build, the components last longer and, at the end of its life, more parts are re-useable and therefore less harmful to the environment. The Landrover Defender came in about 3rd (but it was an American study!).
