All the previous comments are correct. The advise given on the MOT refresher courses is pretty much... As you can't actually measure the lining thickness, unless the pads are metal on metal, then they are a Pass & Advise. In summary... So long as the presenter is given the facts (or the opinion of the NT), then the responsibility for them becomes theirs. That is fine with me, especially now that all of the advisories are documented on the VOSA data base & viewable on the internet. Car salesmen tend to bin the VT32 & leave the tester exposed to scrutiny from angry customers. Proper customers will respond & have the work done, Tight wads will defer. So long as the tester has noted the defect.. happy days! Cheers Dave
