You can get a good idea if you look at the number of keys programmed and number of keys required.

e.g. Keys programmed 3.
Keys required 3.

This a a 4C...if the number was 2 then it is 4D.
I was given this info below and up to now it has been accurate.

Escort - Red
Ka - Red
Early Fiesta (>96...(manufactured not registered)- Red
Fiesta latest - Blue
Focus ( tibbe key) Always Blue
Mondeo Mk1/2 Always Red
Mondeo Mk3 - Blue.

If in doubt try a red chip ( 4C) first

I find that Key programing on some vehicles is just the thing to get the old Sphincter muscle going....
