Puegeot 406 1.8i 2001 ABS fault Archived Message

    Hi Guys.

Getting a bit pi...fed up with this one now!

Just had a new BSI unit fitted for various problems caused by water ingress into the driver's footwell. One of the problems was the ABS & STOP lights on. The BSI has resolved all of the faults except these lights.

Fault code logged for O/S/R sensor but all the sensors (inductive type) have the the correct resistance and matching sinewaves on the scope.

When I checked the sensors at the modulator I find I have battery voltage on the O/S/R sensor wires! Even with the modulator plug disconnected.

I have disconnected the multiplug (very wet & corroded) under the driver's footwell and the offending voltage is now gone at the modulator.

My question is - Has anyone seen this on a 406 before and where was the voltage coming from. I don't really want to take all the carpets out if I don't need to.

There is a thread along these lines in the archives but no fix was posted!

    Sorry for long, boring post

    Cheers - Paul.
