Car came in after a repair to cyl/head by another garage while customer on hols, oil in water but running ok, we changed the housing under oil filter as this is common fault flushed the system and all ok, after 96 miles customer came back with misfire on number 4 cyl and water in oil. After negotiating with garage which is 300ml away, we agreed to remove head to check and found corrosion on the block, removed engine stripped piston rings siezed on 4 cyl, scoured country for s/h engine only to get one withsplit sump, breakers said damaged while removing.removed sump to check crank picked up. both engines same code decided to help customer make good engine out of both regrind crank etc using the head he had recon fitting piston rings to this and new oil pump, the head he had done had new valves and seats refaced and pressure checked all looked ok,what i'm not sure about is where the oil comes up the side of the head bolt how much pressure would i get here if i take the bolt out and crank the engine the hole fills up but not alot of pressure i've removed the oil filter housing again and thers a valve which may be adjustable to oil light switch all galaries i'm sure are clean.
