    Hi,
This happened to a friend of mine who also owns a small workshop.
Honda CRV in for a short service. Noticed that not much oil came out of sump.
Replaced with correct oil and Honda oil filter.
Small road test, after 2 miles the engine developed a very nasty knocking noise. Checked the oil level, Correct. But signs of white metal in same.
To cut a long story short, the vehicle was towed to a Honda agent who diagnosed No. 4 big end bearing worn out.
According to Honda this is a common problem caused by the customer not checking or topping up the engine oil between servicing, they also said that the engine then does not like the input of fresh oil which aggravates the situation.
They also said that this vehicle does not have an oil pressure light.
The quote was £12,000. 00 even though the vehicle was under warranty.
Are there any Honda Technicians out there who could confirm this.
