Hi Steve,
Might be worth having a word with a 'decent' tow bar fitting specialist.. someone like PCT Im sure would be aware of any issues with these.
My hunch would be theyve either used the wrong wiring kit ( not as simple a job as it used to be as Im sure you know ) and/or as youve spotted theyve blown something conecting up the wrong wires... Give them a try Im positive if theres anything 'to' know they will.
