Volvo V70 - Alarm fault since tow bar fitted Archived Message

Dash display shows 'alarm service required' since Mr tow bar man fitted tow bar.

Mr tow bar man denying responsibility

Looked at wiring to rear lamp and found the usual array of Scotch Locks, bare wires, fuses pushed in to crimp terminals etc. But on close inspection you can see 2 wires which have obviously been scotch locked to then disconnected and re scotch locked to different wires. These 2 wires werent in the lamp wiring but a loom that whent up the side of the car.

Tried disconnecting battery for a while,

Tried removing fuse to tow bar interface,

Tried to connect with Autodiagnos using new Volvo pod/lead/link no comms with any system on car (yawn)

Is there anything else I can try before sending them off to dealers?

    Many thanks

    Steve
