Rover 25 2001 - Cooling fans do not cut in Archived Message

Hi lads got this Rover 25 in and its just had a new engine fitted, the guy has asked me to have a look at it because the coolant fan will not cut in, first i pulled the coolant sensor wire off and the fan runs, then i connect the AD pro and switch the fan on activate components works ok, now if I get the engine hot and watch the live data the temp go's up to 99' and the water in the exp/tank go's mad but the fan will not run, thinking its the A-D converter in the ECU or can anyone think of any other item that might create this fault, it's MEMS 3 so not as easy to change the ECU as the MEMS 1.9, just put a variable resistor across the coolant sensor wires and on live data the fan kicks in at 105' Cheers Tom
