Vauxhall Omega B 2000 3 ltr X30XE - ABS fault, speedo drops out and ABS, TC light comes on Archived Message

I read a post describing similar symptoms to this fault ,but i think it was a vectra or smaller engined Omega.
The speedo is dropping out & the TC & ABS lights come on.When checking for codes the Autodiagnos multitester Pro can't communicate with the ABS ecu, although it will communicate with the transmision ecu & logs code P1844(Ign.?Inj. cutoff circuit(according to AD description on screen)).When i checked the code on the Gendan website it came up with another description :Engine coolant temperature circuit(ECT),Torque control -signal out of range.
I think that the ABS module is faulty, but a new one from Vauxhall is £953 + vat, so i'd like to be certain that i'm correct, otherwise i don't think the customer will be too happy if i'm wrong.I think he will want a second hand unit anyway.
I have checked the earths & feeds to the unit & don't get any fault codes in the ABS ecu when i can communicate with it although the lights are then off.
When i first checked the codes ,P0758 shift sol.B (2-3) circuit,
    P1605 Replace or reprogram ECU,
Were also listed with the P1844 (twice), but these codes didn't reappear after clearing.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards, Andrew
