Hi mike. Sounds like you have done all that's normally required. Afraid it rather looks like you'll have to take to a franchised dealer for a diagnostic test. You did make sure that the front catches were wound fully open with the allen key? Also, ref the alarm. Obviously make sure it's off so that there's power when you turn key to first position.
