This Rings a Bell. We had a couple of Peugot Diesels with the Handbrake light stuck on and no Rev Counter, After hours of checking the wiring etc we found out that there was no signal from the cramk sensor and couldn't work out why. ? We Realised that the Crank sensor had not got a built in magnet and worked out that the only way to get the sensor to work was to wave a magnet in front of it. ( The rev counter then worked fine ) So We Looked for a Long thin Sensor with a built in magnet, and found a Renault sensor with a built in magnet that was similar, We ground the bracket off it and it fitted the peugot perfectly, and picked up on the holes where the magnet should have been, And Funnily enough it also turned out the Handbrake light after the engine started. ? ---------------------- Weird French cars. ?
