Sounds unusual for it to flash the engine Light with no codes stored, but have you tried the Phonic wheel learn, ?? Run car till it reaches normal temperature and Rev it above 4000 rpm a few times and see if the light goes out. ?? Only other way thing would be to Read the immobiliser to see if there are any faults logged in it.??
