To cut along story short & more for information than anything else it just needed an extended road test to re calibrate.
thanks for your reply alan ,yes i had seen the ross tech site & had checked wheel speed sensors,incidently the steering assist module only uses front sensors for its calculations,which were all good.
After a sucsessfull road test i re-looked at abs measuring block group 4 & g85 angle sensor was showing good data,which is mirrored in steering assist group 7 i think.
It appears untill a sucessfull adaption & road test proceedure there is no point looking in these groups for steering angle data because either those modules or the diagnostic module on the car do not "uncode"the data for a diagnostic platform to see it.Also after sucsessfull calibration all fault codes auto erase,shame it took 4 miles to complete,every days a school day!.
