Carried out a minor service on the above vehicle, when i dipped the oil with the dip stick most of it was broken off to which i assume is still in the sump. i am aware this is a common problem with the plastic ends on the dipstick but my question is how is people overcoming this issue? I.E. remove sump to remove broken piece? now the vehicle is producing/logging an oil level information fault (DTC 7159).
i did remove the oil level sensor to clean and completed a quick continuity test which came back positive. i purchased a new dipstick which goes into sump and measures correctly. has anyone removed this sump before and what would be the process as it seems like a soft metal.
