Yes this could be a completely random mechanical failure due to an assembly or component issue, as you say if it's mechanical it will break at some point (very soon or much later)

I was just enquiring if anyone has come across this before, as we know manufacturers do keep faults to themselves (if possible) and play it down as just "bad luck" or never had one do this before

This always puts the Dealer in an awkward position as they would like to give the customer the full story to appear upfront and honest, but their hands are sometimes tied as to what they can and cannot say or reveal

As you say the problem is now fixed (time will tell) I will update if anymore issues....unless it pops up on Watch Dog
