Only just seen this & I dont know if you've managed to fix it yet.
Last year I had a 2004 Polo with very similar fault.
The wiring for the CDL went through the electric window motor, after replacing the window motor the CDL worked again.
Took a while to identify that it was the window killing the CDL & not the other way around.
