With these I don't strip the dash to replace the wiring. Remove the instrument cluster to access the heater resistor, You can wire in the new plug through here as well, fiddly but quite do-able.
Then thread the motor feed cables through and down to the motor, fit to motor.
I leave the old wires in place and isolate at each end. Done several like this now.
