Hi John, I had problems with a Vitara 4wd not engaging, don't know if it is the same system but on the Vitara it has a pump behind the front bumper on the o/s and I went through the same tests as you but eventually found out the pump should supply pressure to activate 4wd not a vacuum.


How long has the 4wd not worked? Has it had any front end repairs as my vehicle had?

Notes from my Invoice -
Locate information that the pump is a pressure pump not a vacuum pump as previously told by dealer. Interchange pipes and test operation, 6psi sent to diff which now locks - All Ok.
