The front propshaft sliding joint seizes, also check the tyres are all the same make/size and rotating circumference (even that doesn't stop some Michelins from having different rolling resistances causing gratuitous 4wd operation)!!
Worth scoping the front and rear speed sensors too, as the front one can drop out causing 4wd all the time. However if this is just around 40-60mph and feels like it's shunting, as long as the tyres are even (no more than 2mm difference, with most tread on the rear) chances are it's the clutch pack sticking.
