Had a horrible experience with this car, routine cambelt change, on time not mileage,carried out in June this year, recovered to me in July, no tension on auto tensioner, belt slipped, oh bugger !!

Posting this as a warning, the stud that locates the auto tensioner is 8mm by 1,25 thread pitch for the tensioner, but 8mm by 1.0mm where it locates in cylinder head,that thread pitch is too fine and VAG have now revised that stud to 10mm by 1.25 thread pitch, so much more substantial, this repair cost over £1500 in parts and head repairs alone, be warned !!
