Thank you both for your responses thus far. The vehicle is the 1.6 variant and the garage will contact the owner to give the manual reset a go. I was interested in the reset procedure with the diagnostic tools. My Autocom gives no mention of the "wait time" and as a consequence, I started the vehicle straight away after the reset procedure. This I guess is why the reset failed.
