Hi Simon what scan tool are you using? I had a problem with VSC on a Lexus after a steering angle reset when doing a wheel alignment. The battery wasn't up to much so when reconnected the ABS couldn't go through its initialisation properly. I didn't have a suitable scan tool to initialise the ABS unit so had to lay my hands on a G-Scan to sort it. I also connected up a BSU as the procedure draws quite a bit of power which I think was my first problem.

It may not be just a reset but it's worth a try to reset the VSC with battery support if you haven't already done so.
