Year of Manufacture *: 2008
( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 2AZ-FE
This car was presented to the garage with the ABS/ASR light flashing rapidly. They scanned it and there was no fault codes. They tried various other generic scan tools with the same results. They then sent it to the main agent who diagnosed the ABS/VSC ECU. This was replaced with a second hand unit with the same results. The agent then diagnosed the steering angle sensor, stating the sensor was loosing its settings. The garage has replaced the sensor with a new unit with the same results.
I was asked to have a look and was able to re set the ABS/VSC ECU with a scan tool and the lights went out until the ignition was switched off and on again. I then tried re setting using Toyota's procedure, bridging pins 4 and 12, driving in a straight line to approximately 30mph and then braking. At that point the ABS light should come on indicating that the program process is successful. But this also did not work.
I have checked lives and grounds to ABS/VSC ECU and all OK.
I would be greatfull of any other suggestions.
Regards
Simon
