Help. This is a 1.6 hdi 2008 focus. quick story update. turbo went big style filling exhaust with oil etc, customer was taking car to dealer at time to trade it in for her new vehicle.dealer said it wanted new turbo and new engine so she called us. we fitted new turbo, pick up pipe and modified oil feed pipe, engine starts fine and runs sweet (apart from 1 injector leaking) now when we came to roadtest the car it wouldnt boost at all and within 1/4 mile the engine cut out. got the car back and the inlet hose to the intercooler was red hot and engine wouldnt run. next morning car had cooled and started perfect,i presumed the dpf and exhaust was blocked solid causing back pressure in the turbo, replace them all and its just the same. car will idle fine, when reved hard and throttle is released the turbo gives a loud "reverb" noise as its slowing, the turbo is boosting fine when pipe is removed, the intercooler isnt blocked as the boost is strong when the hose is removed from the outlet side. now this set up had 2 "divertor" flaps on the throttle body before the inlet manifold which i thought may be faulty but i have tried another unit and its the same. as soon as you start it boosting the inlet side to the intercooler gets really hot,the only other thing i have noticed is the engine oil (feeling the oil feed pipe to turbo) seems to get very hot and much quicker than i would expect it to?? this car is going straight to ford and auctions when fixed but i am running out of ideas. i thought there may be some inet swirl flaps in the manifold? but when running there is a strong suction into the inlet manifold. any ideas really welcome. sean
