Re: Focus 1.6Hdi Turbo Help

i have a good oil feed and flow to turbo, not changed an oil pump yet on one of these engines and never had an issue. the turbo boosts fine with outlet of intercooler disconnected and no "reveb noise" when throttle is released. the egr is way up the throttle body and into inlet manifold so i wouldnt expect that to be able to "backfeed and overcome the boost pressure" but it hasnt been checked to be fair. when it has boosted for more than a couple of minutes chris the air gets that hot entering the engine that the engine gives up and wont start again until it all cools down. i am thinking an inlet blockage or maybe even retarded valve timing, not sure if these manifolds have swirl flaps in them though, although there is a great vacuum at the manifold on idle which would kinda rule out a blockage. currently having talks with customer but this job is going to cost me sean
