Glyn I started to get a bit confused with it,I'm fairly weak in the scope department, but I was getting the same reading at the ecu and alt end and couldn't see a massive differance when fault was occuring, I also tested the high consumer things , cooling fans,glow plug control, abs pump etc..... Basically I've had to call time on it and sent it to dealer, Im sure it's a control problem but but can't think why the alternator would suddenly pump out max power, was thinking software fault or ecu problem . So it's at the dealer (will probably turn out to be a 5amp fuse or something ), I speaking to the tech doing to explain all and hopefully get a result.
I will post fix if and when one happens
