VCDS gives us codes 01493 and 01497 which I do not see in Ross-tech wiki. We have no output at onboard supply control unit (central electrics?)for the two wires in question.

I have struggled to find any reference to fuses in the VW diagrams, and am now recalling (imagining?) reading something (here?) about 'devices' now used on some circuit boards which act when they detect a current flow above normal.

Am I 'dreaming'?
