I did one of these a few years ago when the wipers would'nt turn off - even with the key out!
I seem to remember it was as Darren says and the whole job including diagnosis, fitting and yes, coding (by someone else) came to around £700 to the customer.
Madness! just to turn the wipers off. Another reason why I think the BMW Mini is such an awful car!
