Done one a while back and you can lower the column down and tilt it, there are two shear bolts holding it on, bit fiddly, couple hours job.
What are the fault code descriptions, mine said steering lock faulty and module fault so needed convenience unit too, and programming.

You will need Autologic for this job, think you will struggle with vcds, even if you could get pin.
