On this set up (And may the person responsible for this design be condemmned to the 9th circle of Hell for all eternaty) The lower alternator mounting bolf fouls on the viscous coupling on the radiator fan (By about half an mind numbingly frustrating inch) so the fan retaining bolt needs to be undone so that the whole assembly can be slid forward proving the nececarry clearence.
Normally this isnt too much of a problem, I have done several of these over the years and I have made my own "Special tool" to lock the fan by holding the flats so that the retaining bolt can be undone.
On this one however. There are no flats!!
I was just wondering if anybody else has come accross this particular problem and if so how did you resolve it? I have my own idea but am curious to dee how others might have dealt with it.
