I'd agree with you all, i've done 2 of these on the 2.0 models & the symptoms on both were as you described. A word of warning though- auto data used to say to set them in the middle when setting the timing- don't, turn them backwards & fowards untill they lock in the set position. (they also used to call the oil control solonoid a camshaft sensor). I haven't checked if they've corrected this yet. I also mark the ring gear once you put the setting bar on the cams to give a reference point as its hard to find the correct point the crank pin sits in. (no keyways in cams or crank) Alan.
