Hi Liam, if you disconnect the multi plug at the alternator, the system should charge, that will tell you if the alternator is ok. If you check can line with scope and then disconnect the steering control unit and see if signal changes that would confirm control unit corrupting the line. Check the resistance of can High and can lo for about 60 ohms for line integrity. Pin 6 and 14 is usal position for the can hi an dlo at DLC socket. HTH Jim
