I had this one in recently for a minor repair , customer mentioned a noise from the timing belt area which i confimed was difficult to pin point exactly where the noise came from .
I removed top timing cover and found the timing belt moving from one side of the tensioner to the other .I previously fitted genuine VW/Audi timing belt kit & water pump , on inspection tensioner ,pump & ider look good so i'm tempted to go for the belt ?
