I have checked the sources that I have in my home/office, and find nothing about a Gladys Powell. Unfortunately, our library is closed for renovations until early November, and I won't be able to access any of the additional information that we might have there. However, I do not think that anything we have there is likely to provide you with the material you are looking for.

Of course, I first checked the census records (for both Maryland and Washington, D.C.) and found no listing of Gladys or G. Powell in 1920 or 1930 in either D.C. or Prince George's County, but I'm sure you had already done that. Dent Street is indeed in a community subdivided as Boulevard Heights, in the larger area known as Capitol Heights, and it is right on the boundary of the District of Columbia.

When I can get back into our library, I will check our obituary file, which I cannot do at this time. But it is unlikely that I will find anything helpful. Send me another request early in November to remind me to check. And in the meantime, good luck with your search!
