I was looking around the internet and came up with an aerial photo of possibly the camp you describe. I typed in CCC camp in Beltsville in Google and the very first hit was for a camp at the USDA in Beltsville. Bingo. Try that. I wonder what those wells were. Were they underground storage?
: About 1948, we lived in Beltsville. I think my
: father worked at a turkey farm, most likely
: connected with the USDA. We lived in a
: "military" type building, which I
: think may have been an old CCC Camp. There
: were several of these buildings, turned into
: "apartments". One of the larger
: buildings was PACKED FULL with old
: "movie type reels, "military"
: type office furniture, typing paper, etc.
: Near the property was a field that was
: dotted with OPEN wells with ladders going
: down into the wells. A real danger for a
: curious 6 yr. old ! My question---Can
: someone tell me where this old site was
: located? Name of present day road, etc. I
: have heard there is now a housing
: development located on the site. I thank you
: for any help.
