Almost 30 e rec teams signed up for states lol. Not knocking the division like most do but that's ridiculous if that many teams consider themselves beginner teams.. Just don't get it !!

Just another reason the Rec division shouldnt offer prize packages or play for a State Championship

It should be played for ENJOYMENT as the definition or the word recreational states...not championships or prize packages

Yes both of you are correct. But E rec is a building division for the up coming next year and just like my team that's what we have done all year and that is getting ready for next year. No different than what the MLB does with draft picks and minor league. Plus if the ones in E would go up instead of staying in E for 5 years and the D class stay at their level instead of dropping down to E then you wouldn't have so many in the classes. NC is a D and E class state. Wish we did have more teams play in upper classes but that doesn't happen. But like everybody has all year talked smack about the E rec division and I say my peace and if people want to talk in person about it well not hard to find me. I been around this and I am in a building season ( not rebuilding cause I started from scratch.). So if you look at teams records and average runs per game. Then you can tell where a team belongs. Class E and Rec E is no difference in USSSA except the people they have on the teams. Start classification on players like it used to be and you won't have these problems. But its coaches and directors that assume where you belong. Wish all these teams in both classes the best at STATES. But when teams pay the amounts for entry fees then it should have prizes. How you say a team doesn't deserve prizes cause the other classes pay same amount on entry and they get prizes. Its been said all year Rec E is E and E is D. So just don't say anything about the classes cause your going to get the truth on here. Absolute Chaos Coach Johnny.

haha, did you really just compare MLB to slow pitch softball?

the difference is pretty obvious, guys playing minor league baseball are straight out of HS or college and trying to hit a 90+ mph fastball while softball consists of a bunch of non athletic, washed up has beens or never weres trying to hit a softball w/ a 10 foot arc going 8 mph. lets be real here, Rec isnt a building ground, its a place for teams to hide out where they think they have a better chance to win.

until there are no longer prize packages or State championships, etc being offered in the REC bracket, there will be teams who could compete playing higher up.

i dont think that the teams playing REC are the issue more so than the fact the REC division exists in the first place. like you said, directors who let the same teams play D or E for years and year and years without moving them up cause a log jam without a doubt.

at the end of the day, as long as teams are still paying 250-300 a tourney, the directors could care less who plays what division

I would still play without the prize pkg. When you finish 2nd to an e team that drops & get nothing for second that's what your doing anyway. Most people play for the prize of fun & competition. I do agree too many teams in a REC division but as you can see players will drop to win no matter what division they belong in. Directors will have to stop it. Players won't.

at least 6 of the teams played E all year and others even played D....and now...out of no where are playing Rec...SMH

you should check again then...plenty of guys out there getting paid to show up each weekend playing C; rooms paid for, meals paid for, travel paid for and money on top of that just to be there.

for what its worth though, i never got paid to play and was always out there to play with my boys and have fun; when i started we would put up $20 a head to play and being the one in charge of things i usually got stuck with the balance owed each weekend so i know that situation all too well.

we never b###hed about who we played again or felt it necessary to start threads on the message board about other teams and where they should be playing. if you took the time to read what ive posted over and over on here, ive made it clear i felt the issues came from the organizations and not the teams.

at the end of the day, youve still got to play the game. id be willing to bet that just like the D states this year, the team who wins it wont be the one everyone is talking about or complaining about. everyone was afraid of Kwik Kutz and cried because they were playing D after having played C a few times throughout the year, yet a team that hasnt been mentioned at all on here went 4-0 and won it.

Well, if you look at it this way......any team that has a sponsor or someone to put up the entry fee then your paid to play. Because normally guys pitch in 20-30 bucks to play, right?

Sorry guys but nobody needs to be paid to play. Yes if you get free uniforms and paid entry and only thing you have to do is show up and play. Then ur paid. For the pitchers. We are crazy to pitch and I mean no harm but as a coach, sponsor, pitcher. No pitcher need to get paid if you don't pay anybody else. That's favoritism. so say what you want but for almost 16 years and I don't believe in paying players if you got a full sponsor. That is not fun ball.
