Not really bad sportsmanship unless they are saying stuff. Its part of the game. 9 runs is not really that much in softball. Younger guys especially, have very little bat control to put it where they want to and most of the time just try to hit it hard. It just happens. Some try to hit the middle and thats ok because that is the biggest hole on the field. And yes I pitch and I wear a mask and shin guards all the time even in league ball.
