Fair enough, i too suspect a hidden agenda but i dont think they can do anything drastic with NDP in opposition (lets be realistic, looks like the grits will fall to 3rd place). Health care, immigration, social services will not be hurt too bad. almost everyone will be in consensus with being conservative fiscally and liberal socially, which makes a tory-NDP gov't an interesting and promising combination to look forward too.

I just want to point out that the tories have improved immigration as well. Their priority is to have skilled immigrants come into Canada, which is what we need in my opinion. previously those on student visas had to find work within their field of study within one year in the same province of study or risk being deported back to their origin country. Now under the tory amended act, those who graduate here under a student visa have 2 years to find a job regardless of their area of study and can immediately apply for permanent residency upon graduation of their study. So just as an example of how they didnt completely screw up immigration
