One should remember the opposition will always offer an opinion contrary to the ruling party to live up to the role as 'devils advocate'. Thats their job, and responsibility- which is to provide an alternative action the the one taken by the governing party.
I propose that-
A) the three leading political parties each have MAJOR flaws, and in essence the election is not to distinguish and vote for the best party, but rather vote for the lesser evil of the three.
B) in order to judge a party properly you must see it in action, and form a stance on them in that light. In canada there is no way a white supremicist party would ever be given any power, and while traditionally conservatives are made out to be a party that adheres to traditional white Canadian values, the way they appease to the minorities shows that the former is not true.
C) finally, politics is dirty and no party can afford to have a hardline stance on any one issue. the left wing parties or right wing have over the generations shifted more to the middle. in reality they are either Center-right or Center Left. each has at one point or another gone back on traditional party precedents on backbone issues and reformed. So really you must decide whats the best party for the time at hand. Pre-recession liberals had done a good job in growing markets and investing in infastructure. Reccession hit and conservatives were elected and have done a good job getting us out. Post recession we must decide what party will make the best choices. Point is though vote and make your voice heard. IF one does not vote they should not moan and groan about the government after.
-my humble opinion
