A Tribute to Susan M. "Susie" Swan

Susan M. "Susie" Swan 1947 - 2018

I would like to take this moment to pay tribute to one of the most loving and caring persons that I have ever become to know, Susan M. "Susie" Swan.

Susie passed peacefully on February 7, 2018.

Susie was a truly dedicated evangelist of help, love, support and assistance for all of us vets who served at Takhli Royal Thai Air Force Base in central Thailand. She most graciously and unselfishly extended her loving arms of help to all of us here. Myself included.

I think I can speak for all of us in saying: Thank you dear Susie, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the help you provided for all of us here. We all appreciate your kind assistance and support that you gave to us.

You are forever in the hearts you so warmly and unselfishly served.

Very sorry to hear that and to learn of it so long after the fact . She was very supportive of the Vets here on this Message Board. We traded quite a few emails, I sent her some Takhli mementos and had a "Crew Chief" tee shirt made for her as thanks for her many assists. As happens the emails slowed and ended.

Thanks for posting the tribute.

As I look further thru past email and the obit I don't believe the Susie Swan in the obit is the Susie Swan we're thinking of. I find email from Susie in 2020 and i'll try to make contact with her but the words of tribute are appropriate and the name's the sa,

Dick, It's been over a month since you were going to reach out to Susie. Have you been able to contact her or find anything out about her condition? Please advise.

Susie is fine, I have traded emails and I think we'll see her pop in here again soon.

She has been taking care of her mom and several other family members but is well and wrote: "I really enjoyed the Takhli board and being a part of it has always been a blessing and I felt so fortunate to be among such an amazing group of men and women".

She appreciates everyone for remembering her and asking after her.

Dick, Susie and all, I am so happy this is the outcome. Thanks for jumping in Dick and doing the research and for bringing such wonderful news. Susie, I am eternally sorry for the mistake I made on your identity but I am so, so glad to hear that you are still with us. God Bless You!
