First and foremost I want to thank you all for your Service. My 1st cousin(1x removed) was 1st Lt. Paul S. Krzynowek. He died in the crash on December 6th, 1967 at Takhli AFB as it was landing. I think that is the crash some of you are referring to. I am trying to learn more about Paul and the crash. I have seen that Paul flew RB-66s, that the crash was an EB-66 (Douglas EB66-C-Destroyer) and when he was awarded some medals posthumously it was said in the article it was a F4C-Phantom Jet-but that is the only place I saw any mention of that type of aircraft. I was trying to see exactly what type of aircraft it was as I'd like to learn more about the aircraft, his missions and wonder if there are any such type of aircraft at any museums. I am aware there were 6 men on board. 3 ejected and survived-the other 3 including Paul had not. My mom believe that 3 would have ejected up and the others would have had to eject down-I don't know if that is true but that is what she thought. Also you mention having a Safety Aircraft mishap report-Is that something I would be able to somehow obtain and how would I go about doing so. Again I Thank all of you for your Service! Gail Vollmer

I was there. I was turning a KC-135 around on the active runway. The EB-66 took off before the tanker landed. As I was walking past the hammer head construction and approaching the overrun area it crashed. I watched. I went to the 355 TAC Safety Office to report what I saw.
Contact me for more information.
I also have the safety aircraft mishap report.
